Overall, the maps highlight the striking developments that have been made in the Spanish city of Castellon from being ordinary to a metropolitan area. Similarly, various amenities with regard to public facilities are increased along with the city modernization.
In the year 2000, the city comprised of vapid infrastructure. A one-way road is constructed all the way from west to east for public transport. University beside woodland was located in the northern part of the city, while the port on the sea coast in the southern part, and a few facilities to the city in the west.
However, dramatic changes have been made over the years to the urban area, with construction of a new tramline connecting from the university in the north to the city center. Similarly, buildings for cinema, and bars and clubs are erected on the sea shore in the south, also on the other side of these mansion’s there is a path for pedestrians, once it was used by automobiles. Another spectacular change is that a new covered market, airport and new shopping center have been constructed by cutting down the forest area in the east of the city. Although there was no accommodation for the university students in the past, a new hall of residence has been built in the north-west corner. Additionally, a few developments are the old market and train station in the west of the city were knocked down to make way for a new shop and police station, and a new train station has been built next to the police station.
