You play a team sport with some friends. Last week a member of the team had an accident and wasn't able to play with you over the the weekend. You decide to write to him at the hospital, telling him about the match. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
• tell him which team won
• describe the conditions of the day
• say how you felt about the match
Dear John,
I was so shocked to hear that you had a bike accident and are currently in hospital. It was unfortunate that you could not participate in this weekend's cricket match. I know you’d love to hear about the updates on the match, so I'm going to give you all the details.
Although our team did not win the last round, you’d be surprised to hear that the winning team was ABC boys group, which won by 10 runs. Having hardly any proper batsmen, they were still able to win because their strong areas were bowling and fielding. It was too hot and humid that day, so everyone was sweating profusely. But the scrotching heat did not affect the excitement of the audience because the match was so interesting and attention-grabbing.
I think we could have won the game if you were present, as you are extremely good at batting as well as bowling. I shouldn’t say this, but I am happy to lose once in a while because this will give our team members motivation to work harder for the next game. We will have something to look forward to, isn't it?
I will pray for you to get well soon and hope to see you in the next match.
Best regards,
Am.
