The bar chart gives information about Japanese visitor percentages and the line graph indicates market distribution of Japan’s tourists traveling to Australia over a period of ten years from 1985 to 1995.

Take a first glance at the chart, it can be seen that there were a rising level of Japanese guests over the time frames. This number had climbed approximately from 5 to 11 millions between 1985 and 1990 before it slightly dropped about 1 millions in 1991. However, this figure then became positive over the next five years, accounting for 15 millions in 1995.

Throughout the graph, the proportion of Australian market share fluctuated, but the general trend was upward. The distribution started in 1985 at 2%, then jumped to 5% over the first three consecutive years, but it then fell to just over 4% in 1989. At that point, the trend had rocketed to just over 6% in 1993 before it declined gradually again in 1994.

Overall, the number of Japanese tourists who traveling abroad, especially Australia, increased over the decades
