The graph illustrates data about the number of people who visited to three different museums, over a five-year period between 2000 and 2005.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there was an upward trend in the number of visitors regarding National museum in China, whilst MET museum in New York and Edo museum in Tokyo experienced significant falls and increases during the period. Another fascinating point is that Edo was the most renowned museum in 2000, however, in 2005, National museum in China was toured more than its other counterparts.
Looking at the details, as for National museum, the number of people started at just around 6 million, this was followed by a gradual ascent over half of a decade. Finally, it reached a peak at lower than 16 million in 2005. If we look at Edo museum, the amount of travelers remained stable at roughly 14 million in the first two years, and then there was a sharp drop and hit a trough to just over 6 million in 2003. After this, the figures went up marginally to 10 million till the last year of the period.
With respect to MET museum, the numbers began at 12 million at the outset, after which numbers saw a rapid decline to 6 million in 2001 and then leveled off until 2002. Subsequently, the figures rocketed to nearly 14 million in 2005.
