The diagram below show the development of a town called Raytown between 1700 and 2000. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The two maps depict the developmental changes evidenced by Raytown from the 1700’s over a span of three hundred years.
It is noticeably clear from the maps that the castle in Raytown in the 1700’s is converted to a school facility and railways as transportation methods was introduced over the years.
On one side of the river was the build-up area of the residents which was limited around the marketplace and on the other side was farmlands in 1700’s. Raytown evidenced massive changes in its landscape with built-up area expanding on both sides of the river and invading the farmlands in the 2000’s suggesting an increase in population.
Moreover, construction of railway tracks and an additional new bypass road connecting the main road illustrate improvement in transportation facilities in Raytown. However, the new map also suggests that the school converted from a castle in the 2000’s has a new building adjoining to increase the capacity of the school. The woods in northeast of the town have grown slightly and the marketplace beside the main road remains intact as in 1700’s. The bypass, the main road, and the railways all three routes connect both sides of the town.
