The pictures describe how a coastal town of Manarola changed between 1995 and the present.
Overall, the town underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most important of which is the expansion of the housing area. Other outstanding characteristics are the disappearance of the public park and the development of amenities.
In the northwest of Manarola, the accommodation complex has witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of houses, which was accompanied by the transformation of sports facilities into restaurants. In the centre of the town, the hotels have been converted into 2-level buildings while the holiday home and car park have been built at the expense of green area. There used to be a farm land in the northern part, but it has been then replaced by a golf course and tennis court.
An apartment has been constructed in the southwest, replacing the fish market at present. Meanwhile, the coffee shop has been moved eastward with a small road running parallel to the main road. The southern section also witnessed significant changes, with the morning sea boats having been removed and the availability of new sea yachts.
