This chart shows the top eight honeymoon destinations for newlywed British couples in 2010. The results come from a survey of 5,000 couples.
The chart shows information about the number of visitors to each top 8 honeymoon destinations, among 5,000 newly married British couples.
In general, what stands out from the survey is that Thailand and Bali were the two most ideal places for honeymoon vacations. One noticeable point is that the British couples preferred Asian countries where there are plenty of beaches and oceans in particular than European nations such as Spain and France.
According to the questionnaire, Thailand came top of the list with 1,410 newlywed couples, slightly ahead of Bail which was opted by 1,335. Costa Rica came next as the third most attractive destination with 750 couples although it was only half as popular as Bali. Then it was followed by The Maldives, voted by 600 couples.
In addition, The Greek Islands were ranked fifth with 432 couples choosing this. Furthermore, Paris was slightly preferred with 209 couples than Spain which had 140. Bottom of the list was The Lake District, chosen by just 124 couples.
