In general, the marriage rate was higher than divorce rate in the United Stated from 1970 to 2000 and the percentage of married status was about 70% in 1970.
As can be seen, there was a slight decrease rate approximately 0.5 millions in marriage rate, while although after 1970 divorces rate has a 0.3 millions increase, it dropped again in 1990 and return to first place of 1 millions in the United Stated from 1970 to 2000.
