Teachers use Facebook as a means of online instruction because it brings many benefits. First of all, it is very convenient for teachers to use this site. They can post the assignments on Facebook group and their students who are the members of this group can receive and do the tasks immediately. After finishing the assignment, students can post them on this site and teachers can give feedback by commenting on the posts. Secondly, this is the effective way for students to learn from each other. For instance, learners can post their essays on Facebook group so that everyone in group can comment their mistakes. Thus, they can easy to recognize and correct their errors. Finally, instead of spending time going to school, both teachers and students can work effectively by online teaching and learning. This is the good way to save time and they also can spend time reading books, cooking or do other useful things,
On the other hand, using Facebook as a tool of online instruction has some negative aspects. The first drawback is that many students can neglect their learning easily. In reality, some teachers give them a lot of assignments but they do not explain how to do this tasks clearly. This makes students become bored when doing their duty. Moreover, while they are studying, they can use Facebook for different purposes like watching films, listening to music and so on. This has a negative effect on their learning. The next drawback is that Facebook is more ineffective than Zoom or Meet. Facebook only allows students to submit their assignment and receive feedback from their teachers without communicating directly while Zoom or Meet can help them interact with their teachers through video call. Therefore, it is convenient and useful for speaking skill.
In conclusion, Facebook is more and more popular in the world and many people use it for a variety of purposes consisting online teaching. We can use it as a means of online instruction because of its benefits. However, using Facebook has many negative effects above.
