What will education be like in the future?
Have you ever thought about to what horizons can education reach with the help of technology? If yes, this article is the one you should read in order to have a better imagination about the future of education.
Following the rapid progress of technology in recent years, we can see that just several years ago, smart phones were not as prevalent as they are now. These devices I think will have a major impact on education, just as up to now, they have played their unique role. With the help of one smart phone and one 3G or 4G fast internet connection you can have access to your school resources anywhere and anytime. So in future more online courses will be offered and that will make it possible for more people to get the advantages of high quality education anywhere across the country.
In addition, technology will make it possible for schools to concentrate on just one major infrastructure – a fast robust internet connection- so you can imagine a paperless school with no local file storage, everything will be shared online including library resources, homework assignments, etc. Students will bring their own devices – tablets or laptops – to school and using cloud technology they can communicate with their teachers, give the tests and access to the grades instantly.
With the help of new technology integrated to learning techniques, the role of teacher will also change dramatically. Their role would not be teaching the students but providing great resources such as videos, documents, podcasts, etc and sharing them online. So you see cloud technology will encourage independent learning.
As has been discussed in this passage, technology will have a great effect on learning process just in few years. Here we mentioned only imminent changes that have already been embraced by some schools in the advanced countries. But using your own imagination and a bit of fiction, you can think of what will education be like in 2050.
