The following bar chart illustrates to what extent females and males of six distinct age groups taking part in physical activity regularly in Australia in 2010.
As can be clearly observed from the chart, the age groups can be divided in two classes. The first class consists of people who they are 65 and over. Nearly as many females as males participated in physical activity, 47.1% versus 46.7% precisely in 2010.
However, other five age groups are placed in the second class due to significant difference of men’s and women’s percentage. While younger than 25 men were more involved in physical exercise by 52.8, the women’s percentage was 47.7 in the same age group. Moreover, three age groups of 35 to 44, 45 to 54, and 55 to 64 showed approximately a similar pattern. Whereas around 53% of females of these three age groups did regular physical activity in 2010, the share of males was remarkably lower, 39.5%, 43.1%, and 45.1% respectively. The same pattern could be observed in individuals between 25 to 34 years old.
It is clear from the bar chart that unlike 15 to 24 age group, more Australian women over 25 than men tended to do physical activity regularly in 2010.
