The three pie charts illustrate the percentages of school spending in five different categories, in the United Kingdom, during 1981, 1991 and 2001.
Overall, during the 30 years of the investigation, the majority of funds were always addressed to teachers’ wages, while the lowest was destined for insurance.
First of all, the salaries of professors had some oscillation, they increased 10% in the first ten years (from 40% until 50%), but afterwards reduced slightly to 45%, in 2001. The other school wages progressively decreased over time, from 28% to 15%.
Furthermore, in 1981, both resources and equipment had the same money invested in (15%), but, in 1991, the funds for the first increased by 5%, while the latter went down by 10%. In 2001, again they went on opposite ways, where the books decreased to 9%, furniture, and equipment skyrocket until 23%. Finally, insurance investment continually increased over time, from 2% to 8%.
