The bar chart illustrates the proportion of the different age groups of the UK citizens spending money to charity in 1990 and 2010.
A glance at the chart indicates that while the two group donated most money to charity in 1990 and 2010 were people at the age of 36-50 and 51-65, respectively , people from 18 to 25 supported the least in the both years.
Now, getting back to the details, in 1990, there was 43% of the UK residents aged between 36-50 donated money to charity, followed by 35% of the 51-65 year-olds, in contrast, the percentage of 18-25 year-olds was just only 17%. The 26-35 and over 65 age group gave a quite similar amount of money which were 31% and 32%.
In 2010, there was nearly 40% of 51-65 year-olds donated to charity. The proportion of donators aged between 36-50 and those aged over 65 were exactly the same, at 35%. The percentage of the 26 to 35 age group was 24% which was about 3 times higher than donators aged 18-25.
