The line chart shows data about the level of contamination in smoke and sulphur dioxide in London from 1600 to 2000. Overall, the levels of both pollutants formed a similar pattern during this period. Also there were always higher levels of sulphur dioxide than smoke in the atmosphere.
As is observed from the graph, in 1550, London had totally not affected by smoke and sulphur dioxide, however experiencing next 100 years level of pollution in smoke had reached in roughly 100 micrograms per cubic metre compared to particularly higher number for contamination in sulphur dioxide. It is noticeable that these figure continued to increase in following 30 decades. Specific, amount of pollution in sulphur dioxide witnessed a rapidly rise and stood a peak of nearly 1.000 micrograms per cubic metre in 1850. Meanwhile, the figure for smoke gained the highest in 1900, with number reaching of approximately 500. It is interesting that after sharply growth with some minimal varies, level of pollution for both smoke and sulphur dioxide started decreased dramatically with some fluctuations in the last period years. Surprisingly, in 2000 there was no longer contamination smoke and sulphur dioxide in London.
