A computer is necessary for college students
Many people believe that the computer is the important studying tool of students. However, some claim that having a computer is unnecessary for university learners because it can make users become addicted to computer games or chatting with their friends all day instead of concentrating on studying. From my point of view, students should own a personal computer for three reasons: doing online courses, completing school tasks and storing important data.
Firstly, students hardly need a computer to do online courses. In the internet age, learners study not only at school but also in the online courses. There is a huge amount of valuable knowledge supplied from online courses which help students broaden their mind significantly. To participate in these courses, the computer is really necessary for most students.
Besides, most university tasks are usually performed via supporting from computers. For instance, students often have to write assignments in typing instead of by hand. In addition, sometimes they need to send emails to their professors to give some questions relating with their tasks. Especially, the computer is used in online discussion among members of student groups.
Lastly, students can scientifically store a giant amount of important data downloaded from the internet thanks to the computer. If they have no computer, it is really difficult for them to save and arrange valuable documents; hence, these documents can be lost or miscellaneous whereas the computer has a large memory which can keep a lot of information in folders.
Indeed, students need computers for many different reasons which can strongly support them in studying. However, some learners do not afford to own a computer, so they can use it in the university library.
