In 1970 and 1980 there were 2.5 million marriages, but this indicator had increased slightly during decades and fell to 2 million in 2000. Likewise, there were fluctuations on the amount of divorces, precisely, after reaching approximately 1.4 million, it declined to 1 million in 2000 as it was in 1970.
