Fisrt of all, the author points out that Norses did not settle down in near location to Maine side. The remains of their settlement was found in North America location which is too far distance from Maine. Secondly, the author contends that there is no other coins found in Maine side. the article notes that the Norse did not bring any coins to North America. The lecturer rebuts this arguement. She suggest that the Norse might travelled to the Europe and they might not leave any coins behind them back.
Finally, the author states that the silver coin was not known as a money by the Norse. Thus, they thought that the silver coin was not worth to use. The lecturer, on the other hand, posits that the Norse would not have seen the silver coin was a money but they valued these objects as a precious things and use them as a neckless or decorative tools. She puts forth the idea that as they were interested in invaluable materials, silver coins must have been used as a trade goods.
