The bar chart illustrates the percentage of men and women from Australia, grouped by age, who exercised frequently in 2010.
Overall, women exercised more than men in the given time period. Although both genders experienced some fluctuations, men appeared to be more active in their early ages, while women experienced a steady rise in physical activity as the years progressed.
Male teenagers were exercising the most when compared to the older men, at 52.8%. However, the figures steadily declined over the next two decades, as only 42.2 and 39.5% of men regularly worked out, respectively. This gradually rose to 46.7% in men over 65.
In contrast, only 47.7% of women were working out at their youngest. These figures progressively increased over the years, finally peaking in women aged 45 to 54, as 53.3% of them took part in physical activity daily. A slight drop in physical activity was noted in women aged 65, with only 47.1% of them keeping fit.
