Both the lecture and the passage is mainly whether humans can live on Venus or not. The reading asserts that it is impossible for humans to live there by mentioning tree reasons. Conversely, the professor rebuts the claim casting doubt in every single reason.
To begin with, the passage implies that atmospheric pressure at Venus' surface would crush human as well as it crushed all spacecraft which have landed on Venus. In the opposition, the speaker declares that the station for humans can be located higher than Venus surface where the atmospheric pressure is as same as earth. Therefore, it would be possible for humans to live there.
In addition, lack of water and oxygen is another problem has mentioned by the passage which cannot be provided from earth supply but this issue can be solved in the professor view. The professor adds that there are chemical compounds on the venus which can be used for oxygen and water production.
Finally, the passage argues that there is not enough sun for meeting the energy needed for machines and equipment due to densely clouds of carbon dioxide. The professor proclaims that the human also can use the energy of the sunlight which is reflected by clouds.
