TPO-02 - Integrated Writing Task In many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team. Having a team of people attack a project offers several advantages.
The passage and the lecture are presenting contradicting point of views about team work.
First, the passage indicates the benefit to make team work as it is time-saving thanks to the number of people taking part in the project and the diversity of skills they possess. However, the lecturer qualifies this argument illustrating a company’s team work project that was really long to launch due to the high number of meetings necessary to find an agreement between all the project workers.
Moreover, the passage suggests the interest of team work in the ability the workers have to participate and give their opinion. Nevertheless, the lecturer disputes this theory highlighting the influence that one or two workers can have on others.
Besides, the passage puts the emphasize on the ability of a team to make emerge more creative ideas and take risky decisions to enhance the project. This is another part where the lecturer challenges the passage showing that the influential people are likely to decide about the ideas presented and therefore it alleviates creativity.
