A friend, who lives in another country, has invited to you come and stay with him/her on your next holiday. You are too busy to accept the invitation. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter: –
thank him/her for the invitation
explain why you cannot come
ask for his suggestion when you can come
Dear Mathew,
Hope this letter finds you in the pink of your health. I would like to thank you for sending an invite for spending summer holidays with you in Australia.
I was really excited and looking forward to this vacation as it would be my first overseas trip. For me, it would have been a great opportunity to explore a diverse culture but unfortunately due to work exigencies lately I will have to cancel my visit. To elucidate my reporting manager has recently resigned and company cannot find a suitable replacement in such a short frame of time so they have passed some additional work responsibilities on me. Thus I would be occupied most of the times for the next quarter.
I believe I would be free towards the year-end as the work pressure at the point of time is less and additionally, by that time company might have sorted out the replacement issue. Would December be a suitable time to visit Australia ?. Please suggest so that I can pre-book my flight tickets and also prepare any itinerary.
I look forward to your suggestion and Give my love to Jane and Mary.
Warm wishes
Ben
