The bar graph illustrates how often the American citizens went to fast food stores over a period of 10 years between 2003 and 2013.
Overall, it is clear that most people consumed fast food once a week and once or twice a month over the period surveyed; whereas just a few people had fast food every day.
The percentage of citizens eating fast food daily was only below 5% over the time shown. Then, it was followed by the proportion of those who did not eat fast food, at 5% in 2003 and nearly 4.5% in both 2010 and 2013. The figure for people just ate fast food a few times a year in 2006 and 2013 was followed by the figure for 2003, at 15% and approximately 13%, respectively. 20% of the population went to fast food restaurants several times per week in 2006, then the figure saw a sharp drop of nearly 4% in 2013.
Meanwhile, the percentage of people who ate fast food once a week in 2016 was as high as the figure for those consuming fast food once or twice a month in 2003, at nearly 36%.
