The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.
The charts show the amount of water used globally in 3 different sectors from 1900 to 2000 and water consumed in 2 countries in 2000. Overall, it is obviously apparent that at the beginning of period, Agriculture used most water. Then, at the end of period, each of them had an upward trend. In other side, Brazil utilized more water that that of Congo.
Regarding the first chart, in 1990, Agriculture had the highest figure, accounting for around 700 km2 while industrial use and domestic use were at only about 150 km2 and 100 km2 respectively. Over a century, they saw a similar increase where Agriculture rose to 3000 km2 and become the highest. Likewise, industrial use, which remained unchange in the mid-century, inclined to just above 1000 km2 in 2000. However, even though domestic use stayed constant in the half of period, it slowly went up at the end.
Turning to the second chart, the number of people living in Brazil (176 million) was higher than that in Congo (5.2 million). Then, the irrigated field needed by Brazil reached 26,500 km2, compared to only 100 km2 in Congo. Lastly, there was exponentially significant gap of water consumption between Brazilian and Congonese (359 m3 and 8 m3 per person consecutively).
