Working as group in project
According to the listening passage lecturer describe about disadvantages of group work based on six months trial result, that is explained advantages of working as group in reading passage. From the beginning to the end lecturer have struck contrast with the reading passage that accomplishing new project by group results more failure and slowing the process of revealing skilled employee.
First of all, the reading passage states that varieties of individual have more high range of knowledge and skills comparing to one, which illustrating the idea that higher number of people solve an issue based on different type of experiences with higher speed. However, the lecturer refutes this point by in the group, there could be some free-rider relied on their team member or also, individual worked in high performance comparing to other team member may not known in company. For example, even the team is organized from member with highly skilled and poorly skilled person team result will be the same. But co-workers could not recognize who works well nor who is free-rider.
Secondly, the passage points out that every team member can explain their own ideas which will be filtered by other team members. And, in the result, project performance will precious due to its varies of ideas. But, lecturer quite dismissed this statement that group of people always gives different idea which does not accepted by others. Finally, this process decrease the length of project, even lead to the failure.
In sum, the lecturer is disagree with the statement that working as group in project is not effective way.
