The pie chart compare the proportion of water usage for Agriculture, Domestic and industry proposes worldwide and the bar chart illustrates how 4 different countries spend their water in 2000.
Overall, it can be seen that China and India spent predominant amount of water to agriculture sector while Industry sector was the main consumer of water in Canada. New Zealand spent the majority of water on Agriculture and Domestic sectors.
In 2000, Agriculture sector was the main user of water around the world that accounted for 70%, compared to 22% for Industry sector. Domestic sector used the least amount of water, at just 8%. .
With regards to selected countries, India spent a hefty 92% of water for agriculture sector and just 8% of water to Domestic and Industry sectors, where 3% was for former sector. China and New Zealand spend for agriculture sector 69% and 44% respectively. While domestic sector consumed 46% of water in New Zealand, China spent on it 5 times less. Industry sector in China used 22% of water, in contrast New Zealand spend on in two times less.
In contrast, Canada spent on Agriculture sector 10% and ten times more on Industry sector. Domestic sector used there 12% of country’s water.
