Overall, it is crystal clear that after a decade far more students could speak another language. While the percentage of learners who could speak French decreased moderately, other counterparts with the exception of German language faced a noticeable increase.
Looking at the graph in 2000, 20% of students could not speak any other languages, however, this proportion was halved in 2010. 15% and 10% of pupils spoke French and Germany in 2000, respectively. In 2010, nevertheless, the former figure went down, accounting for 10% and the latter remained static.
The percentage of students speaking Spanish was the highest in 2000 and 2010 and this proportion increased by 5% in 2010 to 35%. The percentage of bilingual students and pupils speaking other language have incremented by 5%, reaching 15% and 20% respectively.
