The tendency of news reports in the media to focus more on problems and emergencies than on positive developments is harm to the individuals and the society as a whole. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Media play a significant role in strengthening the democracy of any country and media provide information to the common people, thereby people become aware. However, It has been noticed that media have more predilection towards problems and emergencies than positive development. Thus, I partially accord with this statement.
Nowadays, people have engrossed completely in technology as a result they make themselves knowledgeable by updating themselves with every news of the world. But, there may be certain complications for the people owing to negative news. Firstly, news act as a daily source of information for someone therefore if someone is getting news regarding problem then such news may shape the mentality of an individual in a drastic way, which later brings huge problem for them. Secondly, many news are tempered by adding negative things for drawing public attention, consequently one gets incomplete knowledge, which is partly alarming. For instance, many channels show various criminal activities on account which many people learn myriad ways of committing crime.
However, media can be considered as the bridge between government and the people, and hence media should have an absolute freedom to show any news due to manifold reasons. Firstly, media make people aware about the problems as well as good things which happen around, hence helpful for the people to be meticulous. Secondly, many times natural calamities occur in various part of the world, at that time media acts a boon because media spread news all over the world, correspondingly, people come forward to help victims.
In conclusion, I opine that the bedrock of media is dependent on freedom, liberty and so on, thus all types of news are partly helpful for the people.
