TPO-40 - Integrated Writing Task
The passage says that Venus is an inhospitable place for human presence. the text provide three reasons for supporting the idea. However, the talk refutes all these reasons by stating that people can live on this planet and provide three reasons.
First, the reading claims that atmospheric pressure at Venus' surface is greater than the pressure at Earth's surface. While the professor describes that there is a solution for solving this problem. He suggests that people can live in the floating stations between the surface and atmosphere. The talk describes that the pressure above the surfce of the planet is similar to the Earth's pressur.
Second, the text proposes that Venus's surface is lack of water. Also the planet's atmosphere does not have enough oxygen or water vapor which are essential for haman life. However the professor refutes this theory by describing that human can use chemical material like carbon dioxide and sulphuric acid for producing water. The professor adds this solution is a practical way for solve the water problem.
Third, the text states that the amount of sunlight reaches to the planet's surface is insufficient. However, the teacher describes that the thickness of the cloudes is not so much. Also, she startes that the amount of sunlight that prepares with reflection is enough for using solar power cells. As a result, she rejects the mentioned reason in the text.
