The bar chart below shows the proportions of English men and women of different ages who were living alone in 2011. The pie chart compares the numbers of bedrooms in these one-person households.
The given bar chart depicts the ratio of British single males and females in different age groups in 2011. Besides, the pie chart illustrates how many bedrooms each person had in his or her own residence in England during the same period.
In general, it is obvious that 55 percent of English women tended to live alone rather than men in all ages. Also, most people preferred owning one to three bedrooms in their house.
Throughout, it can be seen that females who are 65 years old or older were unlikely to willingly share their house with anyone. Especially, women who are 85 years old and older make up the highest percentage - 78 percent. On the contrary, English younger men keen on living separately, especially those who are from 35 to 49 years old since they account for over 60 percent. In the ages between 50 and 64, this proportion remains equal in both genders.
Continuing with the pie chart, it cannot be denied that there were 2 bedrooms in over one - thirds of the English private apartments. It is followed by the options of 3 and 1 bedrooms which amount to respectively 29,8 and 28 percent. Additionally, only 6,7 percent of people possessed more than 3 bedrooms in their house.
