It is clear that New Zealand cities' daily maximum temperatures tend to reach rather high at the beginning and the end of the year and low in the middle of the year. By contrast, two cities in the United Kingdom experience moderately hot weather in the middle of the year, cold weather in spring and winter.
In January, the figures for average temperatures in Auckland and Christchurch reach at around 24 and 23 degrees respectively while the weather in London and Edinburgh are significantly colder, at about 6 degrees. July marks the point at which maximum temperatures on a daily basis in two New Zealand cities fall considerably by approximately 9 degrees in Auckland and 11 degrees in Christchurch. On the contrary, temperatures for London and Edinburgh rise dramatically to around 22 and 17 degrees respectively, the highest temperatures in a year for both cities.
In the last month of the year, temperatures in Auckland and Christchurch grow significantly to around 23 degrees, while the winter in London and Edinburgh are as cold as they are at the beginning of the year, at around 6 degrees.
