The bar chart compares the amount of free time devoted by males and females in five different occupational statuses. It is noticeable that men used more free-times than women in three categories (full-time employed, unemployed and retired), while women dominated the remaining categories. We can also see that both men and women who unemployed and retired had more spare times than the others.
The number of men, who worked full-time job, could spend over 40 hours during the week for leisure time activities. This amount was fewer than those who unemployed and retired that spent over 80 hours weekly. By contrast, there were no hours that spent by men who worked as part-timer and housewives.
In contrast, the number of hours spent by women’s housewives and part-timer took lead over the men’s, at 40 hours and 50 hours in a week respectively. Turning to full time employees, women could spend their free time just below the part-time employees. While the amount of hour used by unemployed was similar with retired people in the same gender, which accounted for more than 70 hours weekly.
