You have been invited to attend an interview for a place studying a course at a college. Unfortunately, because of a previous appointment, you cannot come at the time they wish.
Write a letter to the admission tutor. In your letter
explain your position
apologise and offer to come on another day or later the same day
ask also how long the interview will be and whether there will be any tests during it
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for inviting me to appear for an interview at your college. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make on the date requested in an email that I received this morning i.e 19th July. I am writing this letter to reschedule it for the same day or on the next available day.
I had an appointment with my family doctor for the Ear infection and he will be going out of the country for a few days. I requested to them to change it for next day but it is the only slot they have and my visit is unavoidable. I am exhilarated to see an response from your the university as I did fillup the form last year and wasn't lucky to receive a call letter for evaluation.
Would it be possible to reorganize it for the same day? How much time does it to take to complete the whole process for screening? I have seen on the website that there is a test for entrance only for those people who haven't had 80% in English in senior secondary. How long will it run? I really apologise for the last minute changes but I can't help myself.
I am waiting to hearing from you soon.
Your's Faithfully
