In general, roads used to transfer the largest amount of goods. Likewise, the pipelines transported the smallest amount during the given period.
In 1974 the roads used to transfer around 70 million tonnes which were around doubled the amount moved by trains, it was just 36 million tonnes. After 1978 the transportation by roads suffered from a significant decrease until 1982, it was just 65 million tonnes. On the contrary, the transportation by water has a sharp increase in 1982, it was 58 million tonnes from 38 million tonnes in 1974. Moreover, between 1978 and 2002 the amounts which were transferred by railway less than water and more than pipeline, this period has noticed a fluctuation, it started with transferring approximately 40 million tonnes and ended up with 42 million tonnes. The transportation by pipelines witnessed a constant amount tranport between 1994 and 2002, while transportation by roads and railways thrive roughly to 98, and 43 million tonnes respectively at the end of period.
