The graph below gives information from Annual Energy Outlook 2008 about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projection until 2030.
The figure elucidates the energy’s consumption in the USA from 1980 to 2030. At first glance, it is evident that the most noticeable changes occurred in the utilisation of petrol and oil in comparison with other aspects.

The utilisation of natural gas and nuclear uplifted significantly from 1980, which made up roughly at 20 and just less than 5 respectively, to 2030, which constituted at 25 and well across 5 respectively.
In contrast, 1980 to 2030 witnessed a slight palpitation for hydropower and solar use. It, firstly, upright positioned at just below 5 for both categories and achieved to just over 5 for solar and wind, and to the same number as in 1980 for hydropower.
