The pie chart illustrates the effects of over-grazing, over-cultivation, deforestation and other causes of farmland infertility while the table represent these adverse outcome in North America Europe and Oceania in the 1990's.
Overall, the highest cost of land spoilage is over-grazing followed by deforestation, whereas the greatest land assault occurred in European continent accounting for almost double than other continental together. Interestingly, there was no over-grazing in Oceania.
Throughout the world, excessive animal rearing has greatly impacted land destruction by 35%. This is closely accompanied by tree cutting practices which unfortunately resulted in soil degradation (30%) and continuous cultivation habits accounted for 28% while other practices destroyed the land by 7% this is considerably lower than other causes
Regionally, Europe suffered the greatest land assault ranging from deforestation being the chief amongst them (9.8%), then land overuse which detoriated the soil components took second place (7.7%) and overgrazing was 5.5% totalling an alarming rate of 23%. Oceania land degradation was totalled 13%. Notably, they did not suffer from over cultivation as they practiced Bush Fallow system. Lastly North America escaped land ruin as they had a summary of 5%.
