The following two pie charts show the results of a survey into the popularity of various leisure activities among European adults in 1985 and 1995.
Given are two pie charts concerning the findings of a survey into how grown-ups in Europe changed their preferences for recreations between 1985 and 1995. Generally, there were both marked increases and decreases in the popularity of each activity between the two milestones.
On the one hand, ratings of European adults on watching TV and talking with friends experienced negligible changes. Accounting for the most proportion of preferences in both years, watching TV remained stable, at 32% in 1985 compared with 30% in 1995. Likewise, people preferred talking with their friends in their spare time, with a slight rise from 21% in 1985 to 26% in 1995.
On the other hand, other pastimes, noticeably, suffered ups and downs between 1985 and 1995. If almost no respondents spent time on playing computer games in 1985, this amusement was chosen by 27% of the answers a decade later. Meanwhile, there was a remarkable drop in the number of people choosing eating out, at 23% compared with 8%, and talking with family, at 18% compared with 7%, in 1985 and 1995, respectively.
Similarly, other interests also saw a decline from 6% in 1985 to 2% in 1995.
