The diagram shows a summary of how hydro-electric power is generated. Overall, this process has two key stages: natural and artificial.
In the natural stage, the sun heat evaporates water from the sea. The water vapour then condenses and forms into clouds, which move inland and drop rain into the reservoir. The next stage is the artificial stage, when water from rainfall is stored in this area and kept by a dam, which contains a valve to open or close it. When the valve is released, the water flows to the turbine before moving to the pump station. At this point, the water is pumped back to the reservoir, which completes a small circular process.
When the water flows down from the reservoir, it spins the turbine and create electricity. Next, the power is transferred over high voltage cables to the transformer station, which converts the power into a voltage that is suitable for the electricity needs of the local area. Finally, the electricity is transmitted through cables under the ground to the schools, hospitals, factories and other facilities for the demand of domestic and industrial costumer.
In conclusion, the process involves various stages beginning from sea water through sophisticated procedures to produce electrical energy. It is interesting to note that hydro-electrical power generation creates no pollution and relies entirely on natural forces, consequently it is very environmentally friendly.
