The bar graph illustrates the rate of households owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011.
Overall, a graph experienced fluctuating accommodation systems throughout the whole period of time which includes gradual increased in owned accommodation whilst rented accommodation trends was gradual decreased.
Only 22% of citizens preferred to live in owned dwelling whereas in the same year (1918) closely to 80% people's choice was rented dwelling. The most noticeable incident occured in 1939 and 1953, not only owned accommodation but rented accommodation as well, liked proportion remains unchanged. In 1961, the increment in owned dwelling was approximately 10% , in contrast rented accommodation dipped by same rates in comparison to 1953.
Residents of England and Wales were divided into two equal halved in 1971, whose admirable percentage for rented and owned loding is same (50%). Afterward, in 1981, choice of people for owned accommodation slightly increased and reached to 60% however rented housing system lowered to 40% . The preference of owned dwelling was over 60% while rented housing was below 40% between 1991 to 2011.
