The graph below shows female unemployment rates in each country of the United Kingdom in 2013 and 2014.
The bar chart compares the percentage of female who were unemployed in four nations of the United Kingdom between 2013 and 2014.
Overall, there were an upward trend in the level of women without job in surveyed countries, with exception of Scotland. In addition, while England topped the list at the beginning of the surveyed period, Scotland climbed to the first rank at the end of survey.
A glance at the chart provided reveals that in 2013, unemployment women accounted for 6.8% ( the first rank), which was roughly 1.4% higher than that of Wales and Northern Ireland, at 5.4% and 5.6% respectively. However, we can see the converse trend in 2014, England dropped slightly to 6.5%, similarly, Wales and Northern Ireland showed a downward trend, at 5% and 4.6% in that order.
A striking feature is the proportion of women who were unemployed in Scotland. In 2013, the rate of people without job hold the runner-up, at 6.1%, it then increased significantly to 6.7% at the end of survey.
