Overall, in the most industrialized regions the maximum percentage is that of industrial use, while in the poorest nations the highest rate is the agricultural use. In all the six graph, except two, the domestic use is the lower slice of the cake.
The two industrialized regions are Europe and North America. Here the rate of industrial use is similar and it is of 53% in the Old World and 48% in the New World. At the second place there is the agricultural use a slice from 32% and 39%, respectively.
The other countries utilize water above all for agricultural use with a percentage over the 80%. In South East Asia and South America the second use is industrial one, while in the other regions, Africa and Central Asia, this type of application is the third with a rate of 9 and 7%, respectively.
