Children's find time for a variety of activities, which depends up on their age and interests. There is an existing argument that these activities should be educational, otherwise it will be time wasting. Interrupting children's preferance, will disrupt their autonomy and physical development.
Firstly, as I mentioned early, kids choose their leisure's according to their age and peer group influence, are not necessarily educational. If we are forcing them to follow certain rules or purpose, it can make them down or feeling controlled, thus it will spoil their autonomy to take decisions. This type of control can only bring negative impacts in kids life; along with it will waste their valuable time. For instance, a child interested to draw pictures, but his parents forcing him to read some books, will not give a fruitful effect; the child might get exhausted from their pressures and won't do either.
Secondly, Children's mental and physical development's depend on their choice of activities, hence forcing them to do other activities than their intersets, will make hindrance in their physical development's. Proper physical and psychological maturity is vital in attaining academic excellence in a later stage, are tampered by disrupting their growth. For example physical exercises, sports are integral parts in physical development; even though it seems like no educational values, it's indirect contribution's are enormous.
Overall, one cannot force children to follow only certain kind of activities that have educational value, Incontrast let them decide choices which will bring benefits in their later life.
