The diagram illustrates how trampling affects the environment in the non-urban area. Overall, there are nine stages in the process, beginning with flattening grass by feet and ending with the deterioration of the soil's quality.
Everything starts when tourists are walking in the countryside area. There are two possible scenarios. Firstly, vegetation is damaging and, following this, plants become weaker. At the same time, trampling makes soil harder, due to it, the amount of the air in the soil decreases, so plants stop developing and reproducing. As the erosion grows, vegetation sharply reduces, that aggravates the quality of the soil.
In the subsequent stage, there is erosion and decreased quality of the soil, which leads to vegetation and spoils environment.
