In 1893 London subway system hits a top position with exactly 394 kilometers. Furthermore, Paris and Tokyo opened in 1900 and 1927 with 199 and 155 kilometers respectively. Washington DC is in the third position from last with 126 kilometers. Los Angeles with 28 kilometers opened in 2001. Kyoto has less subway system with 11 kilometers opened in 1981.
In contrast, Tokyo is in the first position in terms of passengers with 1927 million per year while Paris and London are in second and third positions with regarding transportation systems. In terms of passengers, there is a slight difference of 5 million per year between Kyoto and Los Angeles. Washington DC is in a decent position with 144 million per year.
