Water usage in different purpose in different areas.
The provided pie charts present information about the proportion of water utilised for different objectives in six different areas of the world, namely North America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia.
According to the charts, most of the world, except North America and Europe, use water mainly in agriculture, while others utilise water for industrial production.
In the case of North America, almost half of the water expenditure is for industrial uses, with 39 percent dedicated for agricultural use and the remaining 13 percent is used for domestic purposes. South America, however, spends just under 3 quarters of the water in agriculture sector and the remaining 29% is divided between domestic and industrial use by 19% and 10% respectively. The most industrialized are among them is Europe with 53 percent of the water allocated for industrial uses and 32% for agricultural uses.
The remaining 3 areas of the world which are Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia share similar statistics with more than four fifths of the water used in agriculture. South East Asia stands out from the other 2 in terms of its water usage in industry, 12%, whereas Africa and Central Asia spends 7% and 5% respectively.
