Overall, coal and gas are the significant sources of electricity generation in Ireland and electricity is primarily used by people in this country for heating purposes.
According to the pie graph, coal power plant produced by far the biggest percentage of electricity at 45% and it is followed by gas power station at just over a third. With regard to the amount of electricity generated from wind and solar, both have the lowest proportion of electricity production at 10 % each.
Heating purposes is the main reason of electricity use at just over a half while lightning and kitchen appliances consumed a fifth and 15% respectively of the total electricity being produced. The consumer electronics and phone charging used the smallest amount of electricity at 5% each.
