The table compares the percentage of spending in 3 categories in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002.
Overall, Turkey's spending was the highest overall in 2002. All countries spent the most on food/drinks/tobacco while the least spending can be seen in leisure and education.
In terms of food/drinks/tobacco, Turkey spent the most at 32.14%. The spending of Ireland was also high at 28.91% as compared to Sweden, which spent the lowest, at 15.77%. Spain and Italy's expenditure was 18.80% and 16.36% respectively.
With regard to clothing/footwear, the highest spender was Italy at 9% while Sweden spent the lowest. The expenditure of Turkey, Spain and Ireland was relatively the same at approximately 6.5%.
Leisure and education comprised the smallest spending in all countries at just under 5%. While Turkey's spending was about 1% bigger than that of Sweden and Italy at 4.35%, Ireland and Spain's figures were approximately 50% of Turkey's expenditure.
