You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect.
Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter:
- correct the information in the article
- explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information
- suggest what the magazine should do about this situation
Dear sir,
I am writing to bring your attention to a significant error in your recent article about the festival in Kutch.
The mistakes relate to the dates of the Ran Festival. It is stated several times in the article that festival will be open until New Year’s Day, when in fact it is due to finish earlier than this, on 23rd of October.
People who read your magazine and decide to visit the festival in the last week of December are going to be sorely disappointed. Your error could spoil Diwali excursions or a family vacation for many tourists, and this could lead to bad publicity and complaint for the city.
I hope you will rectify this problem by publishing a correction in the next issue of your magazine and on the home page of your website. It is vital that you give accurate information to the readers who follow your travel advice.
I trust you will act quickly to correct the mistake.
Yours faithfully,
Milan Desai.
