The first bar chart depicts the changes in the number of British visitors to US and American visitors to UK between 2011 and 2015, the second bar chart compares how much spent of those tourists in each countries during this period.
As an overview, it is clearly seen that the rate of British tourists to US was higher than the rate of American tourists to UK over the 5 years period. The amount spent by UK tourists was much more the US visitors at the same time.
According to the first chart, the number of visitors from British come to UK dipped slightly from 2011 to 2013 and hit the low of 2,9 billion people in 2013, but it increased and reached the highest point of 3,5 billion people in the end of this period. While the number of American visitors remained almost stable at nearly 2,8 billion people during the first 2 years. In the third year of this report, this number hit the lowest point of 2 billion people, then it increased gradually to 3,2 billion people in the last year.
In the second chart, an upward trend was seen in how much spent by the UK tourist from 2011 to 2015, it increased slightly over 3-year period, but rose gradually from 4,1 billion dollar to totally 5.8 billion dollar in the end of this period. By contrast, the amount spent by US tourists was nearly flat from 2011 to 2013, but there was some slightly changes in the two years last, it increased from stable amount at about 3 billion dollar to 4 billion dollar. The gap between the UK and US tourists had widened gradually at the end of the period.
