The graph presents the different industries that contribute to the uk’s gdp from 1992 to 2000.
Generally, it can be observed that the greatest contributor to the United Kingdom’s national budget is the it industry.
Initially, the field of it started with a little over 6% of the nation’s gdp in 1992. this number followed a generally increasing trend over the years, with about 2% every two years. However, the contribution of the it industry experienced a plateau in 1996 where this number stayed at 8% from 1994 to 1996. In spite of this, two years later, this figure skyrocketed to 12% in 1998 and continued to soar to over 14% towards the end of the time period in question.
On the other hand, the service industry followed a gradual incline from 1992 to 2000. Unlike the it industry, the service sector started with only a 4% share to the uk’s gdp. this number proceeded to increase by 2% in 1994 before becoming stagnant for the next 2 years. By 1996, there is a slow growth in the service industry’s contribution (approximately 7% from 1996 to 1998) before having a minimal increase in contributions by the year 2000 (8%).
Overall, it can be observed that the it industry had a much bigger contribution to the uk’s gdp compared to the service industry.
