The pie charts below show the average household expenditures in a country in 1950 and 2010
The pie charts illustrate information about the percentage of household expenditures in country between 1950 and 2010. The data are shown in percentage. Overall, it can be seen that housing was the highest household expenditures, while in 2010 food became the highest. There was a dramatic increase in the expenditures on food, health care, transportation, and other household expenditures throughout the period, whereas housing and education were continued to decrease.
In 1950, the largest proportion of household expenditures was housing with 72.1% and then fell sharply to 22.0% in 2010. Similarly, the education was 6.6% before it declined slightly to 6.3% by the end of the period.
Regarding the data from the remaining expenditures, food was the second greatest proportion of household (around 11.2%) in 1950. Towards the end of the period, there was a dramatic growth in the food expenditures to approximately 34.0%. Lastly, health care, transportation, and other expenditures started at below 5% before it rose dramatically to above 4.5% by the end of the period.
